Muck Heap Areas

Our team are experienced at creating muck heap areas to suit all your needs.

Bases and Boundary Walls

We create practical muck heap areas. Our recommended materials are metal posts along with concrete sleepers or treated wooden sleepers, and a concrete or hardcore base and drainage solutions that will meet all your requirements for a useful, tidy and durable muck heap area.

When placing a muck heap, you should consider the following:

Location:

Muck heaps should be placed away from water sources, such as streams, rivers, wells, springs, and boreholes. They should be at least 10 meters from a watercourse and 50 meters from a water source used for human consumption or farm dairies.

Access:

Muck heaps should be easily accessible to heavy machinery and large vehicles.

Base:

A solid base, such as concrete, is recommended for ease of maintenance.

Boundary wall:

A boundary wall can be installed to contain any overspill.

Management:

Muck heaps should be managed to maintain a clean and healthy yard. This includes forking up the muck to create layered steps and sweeping the concrete base daily
